4.6 Instrument accuracy
Accuracy of measurements shall be as follows:
(a) The air temperature measuring device shall have a resolution no larger than 1 °C and an error no greater than 0.5。C over the range being measured.
(b) The water temperature measuring device shall have a resolution no larger than 1 °C and an error no greater than 0.5。C over the range being measured.
(C) The water volume meter shall have a resolution no larger than 0.5 L and an error no greater than 2% for all water flow rates from 4 to 20 L/min.
(d) The watt-hour meter shall have a resolution no larger than 1 Woh and a maximum error no greater than 0.5% of the measured value for any demand greater than 50 Woh.
(e) The voltmeter for measuring the electrical input shall be accurate to within 2% of the quantity measured.
(f) Time measurements shall be accurate to within 0.5 s/h.
5.1 Test set-up
The manufacturer-supplied top cover (not the floating cover) included with the spa shall be used throughout the duration of the test and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's supplied installation instructions.
Add-on features such as supplementary floating covers shall not be included in the testing of spas.
5.1.1 Test room
The test room internal dimensions shall meet the following criteria:
(a) There shall be a minimum height of 2.13 m (7 ft) from the test room floor to the inner ciling.
(b) The internal room wall shall be a minimum of 0.30 m (1 ft) from any spa exterior surface.
The test room walls shall be insulated in order to maintain the ambient temperature specified in Clause 5.1.2 for the duration of the test.
The spa shall be placed on a platform that shall be placed directly on the test room floor. The outside dimensions of the platform shall be such that the entire base of the spa is supported by the platform. The platform shall be constructed using standard construction5.1 cmx 15.2 cm (2 in x 6 in) planking with 6 mm (0.236 in) spacing between the planks.
The structure shall be further supported by three equally spaced beams. The beams shall be constructed using four layers of the 2 in x 6 in planking laminated together, providing 150 mm (5.91 in) of free air space beneath the deck. (See Figure 1.)
Note: The purpose of this platform is to remove any possible effect of the type of floor in the test room. The base replicates a deck installation一a common method of installing a spa.CSA C374-11 pdf download.
