6.6.1 Types B1 and B2一Full-face protectors
The area protected by the face protector and helmet combination shall extend laterally and vertically around the headform at least to the line GL-HL-Zr-ZR-HR-GR (where L is left and R is right) in Figure 4a when the face protector is assembled and installed on the appropriate helmet(s) in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and when placed on a facially featured headform in accordance with Clause 7.4.2.
Where the helmet provides protection in front of the line GL-Hr-ZL ZR-HR-GR, the face protector need not extend back to the line, provided that the face protector overlaps the helmet by at least 6 mm when viewed from the side.
6.6.2 Type D1一Goalkeeper head and face protector
6.6.2.1 The area protected by the goalkeeper's face protector shall extend laterally and vertically around the headform to at least the line G'-H'-Hc-ZL-ZR-HR-H'R-G'R (where L is left and R is right) in Figure 4a when the face protector is assembled and mounted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and when placed on a facially featured headform in accordance with Clause 7.4.
6.6.2.2 For a face protector/helmet combination, the face protector shall overlap the lower edge of the helmet by at least 6 mm and shall extend to at least the line GL-Hr-ZL ZR-HR-GR (See Figure 4a.)
6.6.2.3 For a goalkeeper head and face protector, the front portion shall extend to at least the line GL-Hr-ZL ZR-HR-GR. Where the face protector portion is made to overlap the edges of the open front portion, it shall do so by at least 6 mm. (See Figure 4a.)
7.3.3 Testing conditioned face protectors
Testing shall be completed within 5 min after the removal of the face protector from the conditioning environment specified in Clause 7.3.2. The face protector may be returned to the conditioning environment in order to meet this requirement. Prior to the resumption of testing, the face protector shall remain in the conditioning environment for a minimum of 15 min for each 5 min it is out of the conditioning environment.
7.4 Positioning
7.4.1 Helmet positioning index (HPI)
The HPI and corresponding headform size shall be specified by the helmet manufacturer. If the HPI and corresponding headform size are not available from the manufacturer, the face protector/helmet combination shall not be tested.
7.4.2 Positioning (all Types)
A helmet with a full-face protector or a helmet with a goalkeeper mask shall be positioned on the largest headform for its size range according to the manufacturer's instructions so that the chin portion of the protector rests on the load-bearing area of the headform and the helmet is positioned as close to the HPI as possible.CSA Z262.5-15 pdf download.
