5.6.4 Internal wiring shall consist of wires of a type or types that are acceptable with respect to anticipated conditions of use, such as flexibility, temperature, ampacity, and voltage. Communications wiring shall meet the requirements of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 214.
5.6.5 Wiring between items of office furniture that have the flexibility of forming various angles with respect to each other, shall be stranded conductor type. Solid conductors may be employed between assemblies provided that
a) the assemblies form fixed angles; and
b) the office furniture raceway allows for inspection and replacement of the wiring when office furniture configurations are changed.
5.6.6 Internal wiring shall be colour coded, except that if wiring is not accessible during normal use or maintenance, colour coding, other than for the identified and bonding conductors, is not required. Each circuit shall be indicated by a particular colour. The grounded supply conductor shall be coloured white or grey. An insulated bonding conductor shall be green or substantially green with one or more yellow stripes. Colour coding of a supply conductor or conductors that may be visible during installation shall be in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
5.6.7 Class 2 or communications conductors shall be separated from power, lighting, and Class I circuits in accordance with the applicable requirements of Sections 16 and 60 of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
5.7 Splices and connections
5.7.1 Splices and connections shall be mechanically secure, shall provide electrical continuity, and shall meet the requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 21 and CSA C22.2 No. 65 or CSA C22.2 No. 188, as applicable. A soldered connection, if provided, shall meet the requirements for wiring connections as specified in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 0.. Splices shall not be made in areas other than accessible specified wiring compartment areas.
5.7.2 A splice shall be provided with insulation equivalent to that of the wires involved.
5.7.3 Stranded internal wiring that is connected to a wire-binding screw shall be provided with a means to prevent loose strands of wire from contacting other uninsulated live parts not always of the same polarity or from contacting non-current-carrying metal parts. This may be accomplished by use of pressure type spade terminal connectors with turned-in or turned-up ends, closed loop connectors, or other equivalent means.CSA C22.2-NO.203 pdf download.
