6.2.1 Wire rope HLL and in-line fittings
The minimum breaking strength of a terminated wire rope HLL and in-line fittings, including any supplied anchorage connectors, shall be at least twice the MAL but not less than 28.9 kN (6500 Ibf) when tested in accordance with Clause 8.3.1. The manufacturer shall attest that the wire rope used in the HLL complies with CSA G4, ASTM A492, ASTM A1007, ASTM A1023/A1023M, or equivalent.
6.2.2 Synthetic HLL and in-line fittings
The minimum breaking strength of a terminated fibre rope HLL and in-line fittings, including any supplied anchorage connectors, shall be at least 2.5 times the MAL but not less than 33.3 kN (7500 Ibf) when tested in accordance with Clause 8.3.1. The manufacturer shall attest that the material used is virgin synthetic material with strength, aging, abrasion resistance, ultraviolet resistance, and heat resistance characteristics equivalent to or superior to artificial polyamides (nylon).
7.1.3 Mobile attachment devices
When a mobile attachment device is tested as specified in Clause 8.3.3, breakage or deformation of the
device that results in the release from the lifeline shall constitute failure. Deformation of the device, or its inability to move freely along the HLL following the test, shall not constitute a test failure.
8.1.1 General
Each horizontal lifeline test sample shall be a section of the HLL material terminated at both ends in the same manner it is supplied with the HLL system. The manufacturer may supply new samples for each test. HLL components may be used in more than one dynamic test, provided that they have been inspected, are in good condition, and the re-use will not affect the test results.
8.1.2 HLL一Static strength in-line test samples
Three samples of the HLL system shall be supplied by the manufacturer without the applicable HLLEA for the tests as specified in Clause 8.3.1. Each HLL system sample including all in-line fittings shall be assembled in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The samples shall be a minimum of 2 m (6.5 ft) but not more than 4 m (13 ft) in length. The minimum length of the HLL between termination fittings shall be not less than 0.6 m (2 ft).
8.1.6 HLL - Dynamic test samples
The manufacturer shall supply sufficient components to assemble a complete HLL system in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and to conduct tests with all applicable in-line fittings, tensioners, and HLLEA for the tests specified in Clause 8.3.4. (See Clause 8.1.1.)
For each Class 100, and if applicable, Class 140 HLL system, adequate samples shall be supplied for three tests for the longest span permitted by the manufacturer, but not longer than 18.3 m (60 ft).CSA Z259-13-16 pdf download.
