適用範囲
この規格は，40 Gbit/s帯の2値光強度変調符号を用いた光伝送システム用変調器集積形半導体レーザモジュールの性能標準について規定する。性能標準は，明確に定義された条件，厳しさ，及び合格又は不合格の判定基準の下で行われる試験・測定が，一連のセットとなって製品性能要求事項として定義する。試験は，製品が性能標準要求事項を全て満足することを証明するための設計検証として実施する。 この規格で規定する全ての要求事項を満たす製品は，この規格に適合していると宣言することができる。その場合，その製品は品質保証プログラムによって管理されている必要がある。
